The Executive Committee (EC) of ONGC has accorded its approval to the company's proposal to foray into solar power generation via commissioning a 10 MW project, which would involve an estimated investment of Rs 144 crore.The project is expected to come up either in Goa, Gujarat or Rajasthan, depending on the availability of land, grid connectivity and the internal rate of return offered.
Part of the project might come up under Phase-I of the Centre's Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM). The company has already submitted a bid for a 5 MW plant under the scheme While all tender related activities for the project will be managed by Onshore Engineering Services (OES), normal material management procedures of the company will be followed for the different contracts for the project.Additionally, the Business Development and Joint Venture (BD&JV) wing of ONGC will act as the indentor and coordinate all concerned activities, utilizing support from the ONGC Energy Centre.
I know solar is very interesting topic.Its very nice.I like this site.As of now, solar power and solar related devices are expensive. But it may be reduced if most of the people start using it. Let us see the future of solar power.
