Deviation from Gadgil formula-II: Future of 13 projects on line

Against the present norm of 10% preferential allocation of power to home states, the power major, NTPC, has sought the approval of the Ministry of Power (MoP) to make exceptions for the following upcoming power stations:

  • 100% power to Bihar and West Bengal from 2x195 MW Muzaffarpur TPS Stage-II & 120 MW Rammam- III HEP respectively.
  • 75% power to Tamil Nadu and Bihar from 3x500 MW Vallur TPP and 3x660 MW New Nabinagar STPP, respectively.
  • 50% power from 5x800 MW Lara STPP (to Chhattisgarh), 4x660 MW Gadawara (Madhya Pardesh), 5x800 MW Kudgi (Karnataka), 2x660 MW Talcher TPS Expansion, 2x800 MW Darlipalli &2x800 MW Gajmara projects (to Orissa).
  • 50% power each to Delhi and Haryana from 3x500 MW Indira Gandhi STPS -- a JV project of NTPC with Delhi and Haryana.
  • 35% power to Chattisgarh from Korba- III and 37% power to West Bengal from Farakka-III stations.
