Reliance Power names senior management for Krishnapatnam project

Reliance Power Ltd, part of the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG), currently implementing Krishnapatnam Ultra Mega Power Project Ltd, has announced the appointment of Mr Karanam Prakasa Rao as the Chief Project Director.
According to a statement, the company also announced the appointment of Mr Palanichami Ramaiah, Mr Srinivasan Ganeshan, Mr G.S.V.V.Prasad, and Mr B.Udaya Shankar, as project directors for KUMPP.
KUMPP, being developed by Coastal Andhra Power Ltd, is the first UMPP in the South. It will have an installed capacity of 3960 MW and use imported coal. Reliance Power was awarded the mandate to develop this project after it won the international competitive bidding process. The infrastructure at the site is currently being developed.
Reliance Power had earlier this year announced that it had achieved financial closure for the project and awarded some of the contracts. The Group Chairman, Mr Anil Ambani, earlier this week called on the Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, and discussed various issues relating to the project implementation.Mr Prakasa Rao has over 38 years experience in all areas of power plant.
