11th Plan sees 105 MT production from captive mines

Coal production from captive coal mines in the country has increased on a year-over-year basis, from the beginning of the 11th Plan period, in 2007. During the fiscal year of 2009-10, about 35.673 MT of coal was mined from captive blocks, a rise from 21.245 MT (2007-08) and 30.002 MT (2008-09), previously. 
  • So far, from April 2007 till the month of September 2010, various allocatees have mined a cumulative 105.238 MT of coal from captive coal blocks. As expected, the private sector contribution has been greater as compared to the government-owned allocattees.
  • The website carries here, details of production from captive coal blocks in the last four years and the current year till September, 2010. The list includes the name of allocattee company, block allocated and the name of the MDO.
