The proposed modifications to NTPC's performance MoU for the upcoming fiscal 2011-12 call for the power utility to energize at least 14551 villages over the year under the power ministry's Rajiv Gandhi Vidyut Vitran Yojna, for it to merit an excellent rating under the Sustainable Development category.
- This parameter carries a weight of 0.02 under the category in question.
- In addition, the energization of 12805 villages will earn NTPC the very good rating, while for the good rating, the utility has to energize 11268 villages. The bare minimum for this parameter is 8726 energized villages.
- NTPC is also required to furnish its sustainability report, covering village energization, among other aspects, by December 2011 for the excellent rating.
