Gas availability during 11th Plan: Domestic production to shoot up to 170.72 MMSCMD in FY 11-12

Gas availability scenario in the country for the 11th Plan as projected by the CEA. 

  •  Production of the natural gas from various indigenous sources will increase to 170.72 MMSCMD by the end of the Plan period in 2011-12, up from the total of 79.40 MMSCMD at the beginning of the current Plan in 2007-08. 
  • Following is the source-wise details of the estimated gas production during 2010-11 and 2011-12:
  •  --ONGC (Firm+Indicative): 51.45 MMSCMD in 2010-11; 51.65 MMSCMD in 2011-12.
  •  --OIL: 10 MMSCMD each in 2010-11 & in 2011-12.
  •  --Pvt/JVs (As per DGH): 82.03 MMSCMD in 2010-11; 102.57 MMSCMD in 2011-12.
  •  --Additional RIL (NEC): 2 MMSCMD in 2011-12.
  •  --GSPC: 3.50 MMSCMD in 2010-11; 4.50 MMSCMD in 2011-12.
  •  --Additional gas: 3.50 MMSCMD in 2010-11; 6.50 MMSCMD in 2011-12.
  •  Total domestic gas availability in FY 2010-11: 146.98 MMSCMD.
  •  Total domestic gas availability in FY 2010-11: 170.72 MMSCMD.
  • At the same time, LNG terminal capacity will increase to 252 MMSCMD by 2011-12.
