Chinese find it hard working with Indian employees

It has been observed in the recent ministerial-level meeting that the target achievement in case of power projects sourcing Chinese equipment is lower, as compared to  projects using indigenous technology. It has come out that due to non-issuance of visas to Chinese personnel, the execution at many power generation projects was handled with the help of local unskilled and semi-skilled workers, which could not adjust to the way of working of the Chinese supervisors.

  •  This low level of comfort, mainly due to communication difficulties between the management and the operatives, has taken a toll on the progress of such power projects. It is, however, hoped that such difficulties would be adequately taken care of, in the subsequent units, which are slated to come up later in the fiscal.
  • Statistics reveal that out of 4126.50 MW of capacity addition targeted for the first quarter of the fiscal 2010-11, only 2065 MW was actually achieved. The state and central sector undertakings added 1300 MW and 165 MW respectively, while private participation was to the extent of 600 MW.
