NTPC's performance management system, PACE: Download

With the aim to boost morale of its workforce and to enhance human resource efficiency, the country's largest power producer, NTPC, has devised a new performance management system-- dubbed Performance and Competence for Excellence (PACE). The website, for reference purposes, carries here a presentation on 0the proposed performance management system, which aims at realizing the following key objectives in organizational practice:

  • To accomplish overall organizational vision and mission by linking individual performance to company objectives
  • To facilitate fulfillment of individual aspirations
  • To build a culture of performance
  • To encourage two-way communication between appraiser and appraisee
  • To evaluate the potential of the appraisee to assume higher responsibilities in the organizational hierarchy
  • To translate future skill requirements of the organisation into individual development plans
  • To identify high performers and recognize them through rewards and incentives.
  •  Click on our 'Reports' section to download the presentation.

  1. But Mr.Bagga, Why are you trying to mislead the Public? Don't you agree that the PMS/PACE has not achieved any of the above objectives and that the Executives of NTPC are participating in this Appraisal system because they are forced, and that it is the least objective ?

  2. Sir PACE is launched with the aim of achieving above objectives & it's supposed that it should achieve it.But since it is a new & advanced system definitely it will prove better than the old but it's true that it may take longer time to achieve it's real objectives.
