Lata Tapovan HEP: NTPC calls for fresh bids

  • NTPC Hydro Limited (NHL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC, has invited fresh bids for the 171 MW Lata Tapovan Hydroelectric Project in Uttarakhand. The previous tender, which was floated in November 2008, has been cancelled due to a variety of issues, including high bids offered by firms.
  • The scope of work in the contract shall include planning, design and engineering and execution of civil and infrastructure works; review of all available reports and studies; manufacture, fabrication, assembly, testing, inspection, transportation, erection, supervision and commissioning of all project equipment.
  • NTPC intends to finance this package through commercial borrowings and its own resources. Lata Tapovan is a run-of-river project that is being constructed using three units of 57 MW, each, on the river Alaknanda, in Uttarakhand
