27 TPS achieve 90%+ PLF during June'10

As per the electrical energy generation report released by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) for the month of June 2010, a total of 27 thermal power stations (TPS), with a cumulative generation capacity of 27,167.5 MW, registered plant load factors (PLF) of more than 90% during the third month of the ongoing fiscal. Out of the total, 11 TPS are run by central public sector undertakings (CPSU), nine are run by state PSUs, while the remaining seven are privately-owned.
 
Pertinently, five of these thermal projects, including Reliance Energy Limited's 500 MW Dahanu TPS, NTPC's 2,000 MW Singrauli super TPS, 1,000 MW Simhadri STPS and 1.330 MW Dadri thermal power project (TPP), and Punjab State Electricity Board's (PSEB) 420 MW Guru HarGobind TPP, recorded a PLF of more than 100% during the month. While the Simhadri STPS registered the highest PLF, of 103.61%, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board's 1,050 MW Tuticorin TPS operated at the lowest PLF, of 90.27%, among these 27.
