Hazira CCPP unit commissioning extended due to ST works

The GSPC Pipavav Power Company Ltd (GPPC) has failed to conclude the pending critical activities associated with the steam turbine generator (STG) box up of its 351 MW block of Hazira combined cycle power plant (CCPP), located at Surat in state of Gujarat. The date of completion has been revised to mid August this year.
  • The processes of oil flushing and steam blowing are expected to be completed by end of August. With the ST operations still pending, the unit synchronization and full load generation have been postponed to September, as opposed to the initial plan of achieving the target by April and May respectively.
  • In addition to this, the steam boiler operations (SBO) have been delayed repeatedly. Although the component was planned to be completed by May, the date was shifted to the month of July, followed by end of August.
  • The full speed no load (FSNL) testing of the gas turbine is now expected to be finished by August, a delay of more than a month from the initial plan.
