Projects to be commissioned during 2010-11: An update (as of July 2010)

The report, as of July 2010, on the projects likely to be completed during the current fiscal i.e. 2010-11, as reviewed by the Additional Secretary (Power). A total of 9 projects, with a total installed capacity of 4900 MW are expected to provide benefits from the current year onwards. Detailed completion schedules, with respect to the following projects, have been provided:

  •  1500 MW Pragati-III in Bawana, being handled by Pragati Power Corporation Limited (PPCL)

  • 600 MW unit-II of Rajiv Gandhi thermal power station (TPS) in Hissar, being executed by Haryana Power Generation Corporation Limited (HPGCL)

  • 500 MW unit-I of Indira Gandhi thermal power project (TPP) in Jhajjar, handled by NTPC

  • 500 MW unit-VIII &IX of Harduaganj Extension, being implemented by Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (UPRVUNL)

  • 500 MW unit-V&VI of Pariccha Extension, being handled by UPRVUNL

  • 490 MW unit-VI of Dadri Extension, implemented by NTPC

  • 351 MW Pipavav combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT)

  • 351 MW Hazira Extension, handled by Gujarat State Energy Generation Ltd (GSEG)

  • 108 MW Rithala combined cycle power project (CCPP), being executed by NDPL
