1,600 Km of high-voltage transmission lines planned in India

The concession branch of Isolux Corsan, Isolux Infrastructure, says it will participate in ahigh-voltage transmission-line project in India. The contract features the construction and operation of 1,600 km of high-voltage transmission lines and five transformer substations, representing an estimated investment of 815 million euros.
The project was awarded by the Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Corp. Ltd. under a public tender process for a build, own, operate and transfer contract, and aims to reinforce the transmission network in this Indian state in order to transport over 4,600 MW throughout the territory. This energy will be generated by the new thermal power stations that are under construction in the eastern part of the region. The new network will enable the evacuation of the energy from new power stations and will transport it throughout the Indian state. The project will add five transformer substations, which will mark out the 1,600 km of transmission lines with voltages of765 kV and 400 kV.
