India aims to add 17,000 megawatts of renewable energy during the next five-year plan period, running from 2012 to 2017, a top government official said on Thursday.Currently, India has 20 gigawatt of renewable generation capacity, constituting 11 percent of installed capacity, India's renewable energy secretary Deepak Gupta said.
