Power sector off-take of RIL's KG-D6 gas: Synopsis for April 2010

The website carries here, a synopsis of the KG-D6 gas offtake during the month of April, 2010, by the combined cycle power projects (CCPP) of the country, disaggregated by sector. The total quantity contracted for the 37 gas-based power plants currently in operation in the country, stood at 27.7 MMSCMD on firm-basis and 6.29 MMSCMD on fall back-basis. Out of this, the total offtake was only 26.04 MMSCMD and 5.1 MMSCMD on firm-basis and fall back-basis respectively. However, the total gas allocated to these gas plants by the empowered group of ministers (EGoM) stood at 32.36 MMSCMD and 7.72 MMSCMD on firm-basis and fall back-basis respectively.
Among the central sector stations, the Faridabad, Anta, Dadri, Auriya, and Ratnagiri CCPP have started drawing gas to the extent of 0.21 MMSCMD, 0.78 MMSCMD , 0.53 MMSCMD , 0.25 MMSCMD and 7.18 MMSCMD respectively on firm-basis. The other central sector CCPPs of Gandhar and Kawas have not signed gas supply agreements with RIL. Among the state sector CCPPs, Hazira, Utran and Uran are drawing quantities almost equal to their respective quotas while the rest have not started drawing any gas against their quota.
The 280 MW private sector Konseema CCPP is not drawing any gas, due to maintenance operations in its plant. Except for Baroda CCPP-II and Jagrupadu phase-II , which are drawing in excess of their fall-back quota, the rest of the projects' offtake is equal to or below their contracted quantity. The captive power plant at Vijjeswaram is also drawing 0.49 MMSCMD of gas against its quota of 0.5 MMSCMD.
